Very friendly, good food and happily very accommodating for dietary needs. Made us a lovely vegan felafal burger. Worth the very short detour off the highway. Perfect. Very lovely service. 5 stars all round from us.

Stopped in off the highway for a quick coffee and a snack. Glad I took the extra 1 minute to go somewhere other than the servo. Chips were amazing and the coffee was great too. The owner Sean was very lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be stopping on my next road trip.

We made the best choice today dropping into this little cafe! Food was fresh! Owner and staff were very friendly! My son said it was the best burger he has ever had! I loved my Felafel Burger, the homemade garlic sauce was amazing! Highly recommend dropping in here for a feed! You won’t be disappointed

We drove down from Violet Town to look around Avenel and have lunch. We happened upon the Avenel Cafe, and so glad we did. Shaun, our host is a beautiful soul, full of life, has a big personality and loves a chat. We had 2 egg and bacon rolls/toasted sandwiches and a BLT, chock full of bacon, perfectly cooked good sized eggs and very fresh toasted rolls/bread. Fish and chips was also ordered, very generous size piece of perfectly cooked Blue Grenadier and a nice small size serving of chips, no waste. More importantly, prices were old school with excellent value for money. Thank you Shaun for a memorable lunch and we'll definitely be back for your old school burgers.

We dropped in for lunch. We were later in the afternoon and thought we might have to grab something small and run as it was closing time. The owner says it’s no trouble and grab a table. We ordered the Ollie Burger, toasty, potato cake and small bowl of chips (large) This place does incredible home made food with service to match. We will be definitely returning

Do not get confused with the look. This place is worth stopping by. Drove to Bright from Melbourne, stopped by for brunch. The host was so nice and welcoming. I love my coffee, and the cap he brewed was exceptional I had grilled barramundi and that fish made my day - soft & juicy, slightly grilled with garlic - OMG it was so good! Highly recommended this place!
